In this section I will gather all the articles that I write about the current and past diabetes research, scientific advances to find a cure for diabetes,…

Just the fact that a doctor (Peter Attia) is asking this question is very promising. The problem is, that it seems to be one of the very few ones with this attitude: a combination of humility, profound respect for the life of his patients and curiosity and an open mind to question the dogma. I loved this TED Talk and I can imagine you will as well. Peter Attia just gave me hope again, that one day the medical community will embrace an attitude similar to this one. He is dedicating his life now to find out what’s the connection between obesity and insulin resistance (and therefore type 2 diabetes as well) You can find more about Peter Attia at The Eating Academy, and at the Nutrition Science Initiative. And here the video. Prepare some tissues for the end!

Continuing with this new section I’ve added to this website dedicated to scientific advances to cure diabetes, I will write today about an amazing news from February 2013. The research is being carried out by researchers from the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), the Center for Animal Biotechnology and Gene Therapy (CBATEG) in Bellaterra, Ciber network for metabolic diseases, Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia and the Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Philadelphia, to try to find a cure for type 1 diabetes. Apparently these researchers were able to completely cure type 1 diabetes in dogs by a single gene therapy session. It’s something they had already achieved with mice a few years ago, but now they wanted to apply it to larger animals, and the result has been positively pleasant. Four years ago a viral vector with curing genes was administered to diabetic dogs whose pancreas were not working. After four years […]

The last 12 months I have been very busy writting my first book, which has been recently been published in spanish (one of my mother languages). It’s a 200 pages summary of 15 years of research, experiences, treatments, diets, natural herbs, vitamins, minerals, etc. that either I tested myself or that many people tested them successfully to control or even reverse their diabetes. It has been very hard but at the same time I enjoyed every step of the process. And today I want to write about one of the chapters included in my book: scientific research towards finding a cure for diabetes. Actually, I’ll open a new section on this website called “Diabetes research” where I will be adding some of the studies I write about on the book and new research that may appear on media. At the time I was writing that chapter there were more than […]
